Coast & Stone is an independent, family-run kitchen design, supply and installation business based in East Devon. Led by James, our approach is grounded in architectural thinking rather than retail kitchen selling, so every layout starts with how a space actually works. Amanda supports the day-to-day running of the studio, keeping the experience as considered as the kitchens themselves.

Two decades of architectural thinking, applied to kitchens.

James began his training in architecture at sixteen, starting an apprenticeship that set the direction for everything that followed and shaped his path into design.

Since then he has built more than two decades of experience across architectural design, interiors, kitchens, property and installation, giving him a rounded understanding of how a project comes together from first drawing to finished build.

That background gives him a genuine understanding of buildings, proportion and layout, and of how a kitchen should relate to the architecture around it rather than sit apart from it.

Supporting the family business.

Amanda supports the administration and day-to-day running of Coast & Stone, keeping projects organised and the studio running smoothly behind the scenes.

She also brings a specialism in British Sign Language, a skill that shapes how the studio welcomes every client who walks through the door.
